Recognition for Random Acts of Kindness is a positive internet and news trend that we hope continues to grow! Friday, February 15 is Random Acts of Kindness Day, but we didn’t want to be limited to only one day out of the year. Therefore, we came up with an idea that you can start on Friday, but will leave you feeling good all year long.
Create an inspirational tree that grows every time that you participate in Random Acts of Kindness. It is easy, fun, uplifting and an ideal project for a family, office, school classroom or anywhere else that you would like to show what doing good can do. A great idea for all ages, you can grow your tree all year. At Christmastime, share and display your Random Acts of Kindness for all to see.
Random Acts of Kindness are easy! Spend some time thinking about your day and what you can do to enhance someone else’s life or simply brighten their day with a genuine smile. You will be surprised at how much enjoyment you receive while doing good for others!
Supplies for Random Acts of Kindness Tree:
Step 1: Perform a Random Act of Kindness and using the paint marker, write it out on the glass ball or colorful tag.
Step 2: Pour any color paint inside of the glass ball and turn it upside down to let remaining paint drip out. Let dry.
Step 3: Using a ribbon, tie a bow on top of the ornament and tie a ribbon to the tags for hanging.
Step 4: Create a sign to let people know what you are doing. First we painted the wood picture frames. Then we printed out inspirational sayings on paper, cut them out and glued them to the backs of the picture frames.
As you accomplish Random Acts of Kindness, take time to make your ornament or tag, and hang it on the tree. The more Random Acts of Kindness you perform, the more beautiful your tree will grow! Encourage others to add to your tree as well!
We used clear glass ball ornaments, wood picture frames and paper tags. You can allow yourself to be creative and make your own ornaments! Leave tags and a pen at the base of the tree. Or, use a basket filled with ornaments next to the tree to encourage others to write down their own good deeds. Watch how quickly people contribute and want to help!
Perform Random Acts of Kindness throughout the year. By Christmas, your tree will be entirely filled with ornaments of good deeds! Display this at home, in an office or in a school classroom to help inspire others to be thoughtful too. Start a ripple and you will be surprised at how quickly a tidal wave of goodness can form!
